This weekend I’ve done a bunch of tarot readings on South Parade Pier in Southsea. What I’ve noticed when doing readings at MBS fayres or, like this weekend, on busy days of readings there is usually a theme that connects most of the readings together. There are tides and currents influencing us but unless you are privileged to glimpse into people’s lives, you don’t see the connections. Sometimes it’s the ending of relationships. Other times, it can be itchy feet in jobs. Or it can be family dramatics causing headaches and heartaches. This weekend, it’s been the early stages of relationships. The apprehension and excitement of where it could be going. The fear of not wanting to rush in and yet being pulled together by magnetic attraction. Uncertainty wrapped in possibilities. Every tarot reading has shown wonderful potential for the futures of these seedling relationships to flourish. Yet, the fears of ‘blowing it’ need acknowledging and gently releasing. When something feels so right, we can’t believe our luck. It’s too good to be true. These readings got me thinking about hesitation and I wonder how many opportunities are lost from not believing the gift presented. And then to add to the doubt, the reluctance to follow the heart in case the opportunity crumbles before it can grow. What makes us such a cautious species? I know we all carry around baggage and it’s rare to find a person who hasn’t known heartache in one form or another… but still, why should it taint the future. It shouldn’t. And it doesn’t….until we let it. Going back to relationships. We have such little time here on our beautiful planet and if a person steps on to our path, isn’t it better to immerse yourself into the possibility of something beautiful rather than plod along when every cell in your body is crying out for a different experience? We’re taught it’s foolish to rush in. Slow and steady is the best way forward. But is it? Isn’t it better to know the potential was only mean to burn bright for a short while? Or maybe you find once the initial passion and attraction peters way, you’re left with the foundations of the relationship you’ve always wanted. Life is short. You have no idea how long you have been given to have this human experience. Jump with both feet and see where you land.
